“I began building stringed instruments in the early 70’s in Minneapolis, Minnesota during a “Golden Age” of both acoustic music and handmade instruments.
All genres of music were thriving and as a luthier, I and many others enjoyed learning our craft through the work and example of C.F Martin, Orville Gibson, Lloyd Loar, the masters of classical and flamenco, and violin makers, and of course each other.
As we mastered the fundamentals of lutherie there came the opportunity to develop our own styles and individual expression through the needs of new music and when possible adding to the evolution of the guitar.
Entering a new millennium, the guitar is once again experiencing an evolution of using new and improved styles and innovation often returning to the past traditions for inspiration. Those of us who continue in the craft strive to meet the demands of the music with the collaboration of musicians to create instruments that can advance their art.”
